Jan M. Hilgeman

 Secretary

I am Dennis’ sister-in-law, but "in-law" doesn’t begin to describe our relationship. In every way that matters, Dennis was a true brother to me.

He was one of the most talented, funny, and warm-hearted people I have ever known. He was fiercely protective of and deeply in love with his wife – my sister, Alissa – which meant the world to me. As the father of my niece Hannah and nephew Kristian, it was a true privilege to be able to consider him family.

Dennis’ ALS diagnosis felt impossible to wrap our heads around. Yet, his decision to support others affected by this disease was absolutely in keeping with who he was: inherently generous and caring.

My love for Dennis and seeing firsthand the devastating toll ALS takes on families has inspired me to join the Dennis Burke Foundation 4 ALS.

I am honored to serve as Secretary and to help fulfill his wishes.
